To our caring volunteers!
We have had many requests asking us how people can help during this time.
We would like to share 3 ways we are looking to support seniors and vulnerable people living in our community.
-
Perishable Package delivery-Volunteers are needed to shop and deliver emergency perishable food items.
This could include: milk, bread, yogurt, juice, eggs and some fruits and vegetables. You will be asked to shop and be provided the clients name, address and phone number so you can arrange the delivery. This project will not exceed you spending $30. -
Passover non perishable package-Using your own resources we need volunteers to shop and deliver Passover food items to those celebrating the holiday. Items needed: Matzah, Matza Ball soup mix, chicken broth, grape juice, gefilte fish, tea or coffee, applesauce and macaroons. We will provide clients name, address and phone number. You will be asked to contact the client directly to arrange delivery date and time. We are happy to help and provide a new reusable bag, matzah and tuna. The project will cost you approximately $30.
-
Food Pantry Donations-to support our distribution of non perishable, household and personal care items to those who are unable to leave their homes. Items most needed are: peanut butter, jelly, cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, canned fruit, canned tuna, salmon or chicken, hearty soups, laundry detergent, sponges, tissues and of course toilet paper. A bin for donations is located outside the entrance to the JCC.
Please reply to Rhonda at rgreen@miyjcc.org if you would like to help and let us know which project you are interested in.
Thank you so much! Hoping you and your family are healthy and safe!
