The Three Pillars of Judaism: God, Torah, and Israel

June 5th @7:45PM: God
Location: Kiddush room
Can an atheist be a good Jew? Does praying help me get a better job? What role does God play in our day to day lives.  Come for a guided discussion through Rabbi Fruithandlers five different modes of spirituality.

June 9th @11:30AM: Torah
(after Shavuot services)
Location: Kiddish room

Rabbi Fruithandler will lead a discussion on three pivotal Rabbinic points of view on the role of Torah in our lives. Does the bible have a say in our every day choices? How does individual circumstances mitigate or change the conversation?

June 19th @7:45PM: Israel
Location: Kiddish room
For 2000 years Jews dreamed about a return to the land of Israel.  For the last 70 years a real actual country has existed in this holy land.  This has created a bifurcated relationship with Israel.  There is an Israel of our dreams and prayers as well as an actual Israel that is one nation among many.  Rabbi Fruithandler will guide a discussion through some key texts that look at how the Israel of Dreams effects the Israel of reality and vica versa.

Hope to see you there!
